DISCONNECTED

The book of  Deuteronomy is rich with promises and filled with hope shared by Moses.  Moses speaks of God's faithfulness and His powers of salvation. He tells how God will give his richest blessings to those who are obedient in His word. We pour fourth His blessings for the progression of his Kingdom and His glory. God's word is done, the past, the present and the future. Nothing will change his plans. Our obedience determines if we spend 11 days in the dessert or 40 years in the desert.

Deuteronomy 1
2) Normally it takes only eleven days to travel from Mount Sinai[b] to Kadesh-barnea, going by way of Mount Seir. 3) But forty years after the Israelites left Egypt, on the first day of the eleventh month,[c] Moses addressed the people of Israel, telling them everything the Lord had commanded him to say. 4) This took place after he had defeated King Sihon of the Amorites, who had ruled in Heshbon, and King Og of Bashan, who had ruled in Ashtaroth and Edrei.

As you can see despite their resistance to be obedient the Lord pressed on to fulfill His word. Moses encourages them.... in a way he say's "look its not to late yet." All I'm saying is we can make our plans but if they are not aligned with God's  plan we spend lots of time in the dessert heat by way of worry, stress, discouragement, confusion and many difficult trials. He say's you believe there is a God right? You have seen his works around you? Then if you believe your just disconnected from the vine.

John 15:5 (New King James Version)  5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.".....  Lets reconnect:

Exhort your people to be faithful and obedient.

Rededicate your life to God.

Worship Him in song and praise.

Moses goes on to encourage them to lean on God and surround themselves with other believers. To make leaders who will judge fairly and bring glory to God. They should  have a positive impact/influence. They will guide you by faith and instill confidence in the Lord and have no fear and doubt. If you do all this life will be full and will be pleasing to God. He will bless you, carry you in the tough times. He will go ahead of you to make way for you. You will not be lost or forsaken.

Deuteronomy 1:29-33 (New King James Version)

29 )“Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified, or afraid of them. 30) The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, 31) and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.’ 32) Yet, for all that, you did not believe the LORD your God, 33) who went in the way before you to search out a place for you to pitch your tents, to show you the way you should go, in the fire by night and in the cloud by day.

My friends never give up and be discouraged. Surrender your fear and your doubt. Rededicate your life to the Lord and be blessed. Think of the alternate choice. God clearly tells us what will happen if we do not dedicate our lives to him and believe, have faith and live in obedience.

Deuteronomy 1:34-36 (The Message)

34-36 When God heard what you said, he exploded in anger. He swore, "Not a single person of this evil generation is going to get so much as a look at the good land that I promised to give to your parents. Not one—except for Caleb son of Jephunneh. He'll see it. I'll give him and his endants the land he walked on because he was all for following God, heart and soul."

Praise God! In the New Testament we are promised salvation for those who believe in his son Jesus Christ who came to save us and died on the Cross for our sins. But still, we will reap what we sow if we are disconnected and choose not to rededicate our lives to the one we know as Savior. God put us here to worship Him and to live a life in the image of his son and use the backdrop of the cross in all we do and say so that we may honor Him.

Live in gratitude, lovingly, humbly and repent of all your sins. He will shield us with the power of our own faith in Him. If we do not believe we are not under his shield of protection. Pray ask for his mercy and increased faith and he will.

Be blessed and live in love!
